Changes to New York Employer Verification Form: FTE Calculation

Starting with coverage effective January 1, 2016, the Affordable Care Act (ACA) requires that health insurance for employers with 100 or fewer employees meet standards applicable to “Small Employers.” In the near future, you will be receiving a letter from Aetna indicating that based upon available information we believe you are a “Small Employer” under the law. Below, we ask that you provide information that will confirm whether you should have a plan for a Small Employer or a plan for a Large Employer in 2016. If you inform Aetna by September 24th that you are a Small Employer, we will proceed to process your renewal in accordance with the letter you will soon receive. If you inform Aetna that you are a Large Employer, we will provide you with a quote for a Large Employer Plan.
