1/27/11 - Changes for Groups Renewing in Oxford Products on or after April 1, 2011. Oxford is committed to providing your clients with comprehensive and affordable health care coverage. To that end, they will be making changes to the current New York large group (51+) Oxford1 product offerings and benefit plan designs. Changes include:

  • Emergency Room Copayment Change
  • Changes to Oxford MyPlanSM
  • New Medical and Pharmacy Plan Design Options
  • Oxford Exclusive Plan
  • Oxford HSA Exclusive

1/19/11 - Emblem has released the 2011 commission schedule which includes commissions effective

1/1/2011 as well as renewal commisisons

1/25/11 - UnitedHealthcare Employer & Individual has entered into an agreement to renew medical insurance coverage for The Guardian Life Insurance Company of America's medical plan customers. They will broaden choice and access to care for Guardian medical customers through one of the largest local and national networks in the country, highly integrated clinical programs and a full range of affordable products. They have also prepared a Frequently Asked Questions document that can be downloaded directly from the Special Producer Notice.

1/18/11 - Please be aware that on all Oxford and Emblem renewals or plan changes, on ALL cost share or HSA Plans, the group MUST specify Calendar or Contract year or else the group will automatically default to Calendar Year. If you have any questions, please call our FNA Renewal Department or your FNA Broker Representative.

Atlantis Recapitalization Update
1/7/11 - Atlantis Health Plan (“Atlantis”) has just announced that its recapitalization plan has been completed. Atlantis emerges from its financial difficulties as a properly capitalized and compliant New York State HMO. The completion of the recapitalization allows Atlantis to move forward in its mission to provide affordable health insurance to the New York City market. Atlantis plans to accept new members for February 1, 2011 effective dates and forward.

1/6/2011 - To meet the evolving business needs of today's marketplace, Emblem has notified us that they will be replacing some plans with ones that have more contemporary benefits designs and cost-sharing structures. Effective April 1, 2011, they will no longer offer our group GHI FlexSelect, GHI Alliance Choice, GHI Alliance Choice Plus, EmblemHealth InBalance PPO and GHI 365-Day Hospital Service Plan. In addition, effective June 1, 2011, GHI will no longer offer its direct pay GHI Alliance 365-Day Hospital plan. We are discontinuing these plans for both existing customers and new business under legal authority of New York State Insurance Law. The applicable statutes are indicated at the end of the communication.

1/6/11 - Aetna has released updated information on the tax credit and how they are helping small businesses benefit. Your small group employers may qualify for a tax credit that could help them save on health benefits for their employees.

1/3/11 - The LIA Health Alliance has released their 2011 billing fees . In order to avoid any processing delays, when submitting new & renewal business please be sure the correct annual billing fee is included with your client's submission. For 2011, the LIA Sole Proprietor annual billing fee is $60 and the Small Group (2-50) annual billing fee is $120.

6/14/11 - UnitedHealth care is committed to providing your clients and their employees with access to comprehensive and affordable health care services. As part of this strategy, they are currently negotiating a new agreement with East End Health Alliance (EEHA). EEHA hospitals include Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport, NY; Peconic Bay Medical Center in Riverhead, NY; and Southampton Hospital in Southampton, NY.
