9/8/11 - Broker notice: Important Update Regarding Network Participation for Waterbury Hospital.  UnitedHealthcare is negotiating a new contract with Waterbury Hospital, in Waterbury, Connecticut, prior to the official termination date of October 1, 2011 for UnitedHealthcare commercial, and UnitedHealthcare and Oxford Medicare products.  If our current agreement with Waterbury Hospital terminates, it will not affect Oxford commercial products, which are under a separate agreement. Only the Oxford Medicare product would be impacted, in addition to UnitedHealthcare commercial and Medicare products. 1,150 impacted UnitedHealthcare members will receive a letter this week informing them that Waterbury Hospital will be a non-network hospital on October 1. Hospital care benefit information is included with the letter, as is a list of alternate hospitals. A similar letter has been mailed to the members’ employers.
