Prudential Dental Approved in NJ & CT
8/4/10 - We are excited to announce that Prudential Dental is approved in New Jersey and Connecticut and they hope to be approved in NY shortly. They have provided us with a product brochure and an FAQ about the plans. Please feel free to contact our Ancillary department with any questions you may have.

UnitedHealthcare Connecticut Update
7/12/10 - UnitedHealthcare wants you to be aware of an update to Connecticut Public Act No. 09-126, which provides certain employers an election to terminate an employee's medical insurance coverage under a group health insurance policy 72 hours after termination of employment. The law has been updated to address termination due to relocation or closing of a covered establishment.

UnitedHealthcare Healthnet Transition Bonus
3/29/10 - UnitedHealthcare has announced an exciting new small business broker incentive program that is associated with Health Net business transition in their most recent Broker Alert . Brokers who convert existing Health Net groups with up to 50 eligible employees to an Oxford medical plan from April 2010 through December 2010 are eligible. Brokers receive a one-time payment of $5 for each enrolled employee in an eligible group that successfully converts to an Oxford medical plan. 

Oxford UBH
2/9/10 - April 1, 2010, Oxford behavioral health benefits will be managed by United Behavioral Health (UBH) . This change will apply to all Connecticut and New York Oxford members. (UBH is currently working with New Jersey regulators to finalize integration approval.) This transition will not affect members' Oxford health benefits.

Oxford's SimplyEngaged Now Available
1/25/2010 -  Simply Engaged is now available on the Oxford platform for fully insured employers with 51 or more employees in New York, New Jersey, or Connecticut.  This program, which helps employers take an active role in promoting wellness with their employees and rewards employees with gift cards for their participation, can be added to any Oxford plan.  To promote SimplyEngaged, we've developed a series of informational materials which are available in pdf's  

Health Net Withdrawal Notification Begins
1/6/2009 - REMINDER  - On December 11, 2009 Health Net announced that the sale of their Northeast subsidiaries and renewal rights to UnitedHealthcare had been finalized. As a result Health Net will begin to withdraw products in the marketplace for the July 2010 renewal cycle.  Clients and their members should have already received the required 180-day withdrawal notices. Access the New York and Connecticut notices that have been approved are available in the Health Net Basics Newsletter .  New Jersey approval was recieved they will share those notices early next week. 

UnitedHealthcare Acquires Health Net’s Northeast Licenses and Rights to Renew Membership
12/14/09 UnitedHealthcare is very excited to share the news that they have completed its acquisition of Health Net of the Northeast’s licensed subsidiaries and obtained rights to renew Health Net’s membership in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. They have released a "Special Broker Notice " as well as a list of "Frequently Asked Questions " to guide you and your clients through the process.  

ERISA Notification for Oxford Groups
9/11/09 - A mailing was sent out last week to New York, New Jersey and Connecticut employers with Oxford coverage regarding the Employer Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Enclosed in that mailing was a sample Summary Plan Description form, ERISA Statement Instructions for Completion of a Summary Plan Description and an ERISA Information Statement that was drafted for use in every employee’s Certificate of Coverage. New Network Agreement for Oxford and UnitedHealthcare
8/31/09 A New Agreement Extends Pediatric Healthcare Associates' Participation in Oxford and UnitedHealthcare Networks for Connecticut. Employers and Members will begin to receive letters the first week in September.

7/21/09 -  UnitedHealthcare signed a definitive agreement to acquire Health Net of the Northeast's licensed subsidiaries and obtain rights to renew membership in Connecticut, New York and New Jersey. HealthNet Changes Non-payment Policy
7/16/09 - Health Net has made a change to their non-payment policy for the 51+ market. Health Net’s standard collection process is to notify our clients of the risk of termination of coverage 15 days after the due date if premiums are unpaid. This policy has changed.  They have included an example of the net termination notice in their most recent news update.

UnitedHealthcare/Pediatric Healthcare Associates
6/12/09 - UnitedHealthcare has sent out a special notice to Connecticut brokers regarding changes Pediatric Health Care Associates and changes that will take effect on September 1, 2009. UnitedHeathcare is working with Pediatric Healthcare Associates to reach an agreement that will be beneficial for all parties.

United HealthCare's New Agreement Reached with Bristol Hospital
4/28/09 - UnitedHealthcare is are proud of their long-standing relationship with Bristol Hospital in Connecticut. They have released a Broker eUpdate that they have signed a new agreement with the hospital which will be effective April 15, 2009. 

Oxford Reaches Agreement
4/13/09 - A new contract agreement has been reached with Bristol Hospital and United Healthcare/Oxford, which will be effective April 15, 2009 through September 30, 2010. They have released letters to the Benefits Administrator , for Members and an informative Broker Blast with all of the details.

HealthNet Answers ARRA COBRA Questions

4/8/09 - HealthNet has released a brief outline explaining the way that they will be handling the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) for New York,  New Jersey and Connecticut. 

Oxford Contract Year Deductible
3/31/09 - UnitedHealthcare has released an announcement that effective June 1, 2009, UHC will begin offering a contract year deductible option in addition to the existing calendar year deductible option. While contract year deductibles are already available for UnitedHealthcare cases, this is a new option for Oxford cases.

UHC Westchester Medical Center Termination
3/17/09- A Broker Notice was sent to New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut brokers regarding the termination of Westchester Medical Center on March 17, 2009.

1/1/09 - Effective January 1, 2009, Oxford released a Special Notice introducing additional Oxford USASM plan designs to support thier popular Benchmark SolutionsSM Direct series for Connecticut small groups. Beginning in January, groups that select one of our Benchmark Solutions Direct plans for their Connecticut-based employees will be able to offer any out-of-area employees the same plan design!
